In 1907, a large fair/exposition was held in Jamestown, Virginia to celebrate the founding of Jamestown in 1607 (300 year anniversary). Lots of dignitaries attended the event, including Teddy Roosevelt. This pinback was a tourist souvenir from the exposition. It is estimated that 3 million people visited the exposition.
This postcard is for the 1907 Jamestown Exposition and has photos of Teddy Roosevelt (President), Gen Fitzhugh Lee (Confederate General and Spanish American War General), and Harry St. George Tucker (President of Exposition Company). It measures 3 1/2″ by 5 1/2″. The postcard has been mailed with “Jamestown Celebration” counterstamp. Postcard has a bend on left side but is still in very good condition.
