This colorful litho pinback is from the 1930s and has a cartoon drawing of a Hans and Fritz also known as the Katzenjammer Kids. The Katzenjammer Kids were very popular cartoon characters that were drawn by Harold Knerr starting in 1897. This is the first comic strip to put dialogue inside speech balloons. It measures 7/8″ across and is in very good condition. It is marked #34 (from a set of cartoon pinbacks). It is marked around the curl “Western Theatre Premium Co. / Los Angeles”.

1930s Hans and Fritz Katzenjammer Kids Los Angeles Pinback

This colorful litho pinback is from the 1930s and has a cartoon drawing of a Hans and Fritz also known as the Katzenjammer Kids.  The Katzenjammer Kids were very popular cartoon characters that were drawn by Harold Knerr starting in 1897.  This is the first comic to put dialogue inside speech balloons.  It measures 7/8″ across and is in very good condition.  It is marked #34 (from a set of cartoon pinbacks).   It is marked around the curl “Western Theatre Premium Co. / Los Angeles”.  It may have been a give-away at a movie theatre.
