Here is a pro-Union Civil War Envelope. General Winfield Scott (appears as a large dog) looking down on a small dog with the Confederate flag. It states ” A Polite Invitation – Why don’t you take it” (referring to Washington DC). It measures 3″ by 5 1/2″ and is in good condition with 4 very small marks on the back where it was attached in an album. The envelope was made by D. Murphy & Son, NY.
