President McKinley Memorial pinback from 1901

Description

Memorial pinback honoring President William McKinley who was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz, an anarchist, who shot McKinley twice in the abdomen in September 1901. McKinley would die eight days later.  Teddy Roosevelt would become president when McKinley died.  This pinback measures 7/8″ across and is in very good condition except for a few minor marks that are visible on close inspection.  The manufacturers name is marked into the metal on the back – it appears to be “Baldwin”.  The front shows a photo of McKinley on a US RWB flag.
