Here is a litho pinback of Strom Thurmond for President from 1948 Presidential Election. Strom ran as a States Rights Democrat (also known as Dixiecrats) on the segregation platform. Strom and Wright, his Vice President candidate, only won 2.4% of the vote in 1948. Strom had a long career in politics including Governor of South Carolina (1947 to 1951) and US Senator (1954 – 2003). Two notable items about Strom: (1) he changed from the Democratic to Republican Party in 1964 and (2) he was for segregation in the South. After Strom’s death, a mixed-race daughter stated that Strom was her father. The litho pinback measures 1″ across and is in good condition.

After Strom’s death, a mixed-race daughter stated that Strom was her father. The litho pinback measures 1″ across and is in good condition (most of his litho pinbacks have scratches). There is no manufacturer’s name on the pinback.
