Gerald Ford became the President when Richard Nixon resigned in August 1974. Gerald Ford ran for the presidency in 1976 and lost to Jimmy Carter. Here is a pinback from 1976 worn by campaign volunteers in Northern California. Being a regional item, it was probably produced in small numbers. This pinback measures 1 1/2″ across and is in excellent condition. It is marked on the curl “Button Works, Nevada City, CA” and has the union bug.
