The badge measures 1 5/8″ by 2″ and is in very good condition.

Charles Evans Hughes was nominated as the Republican candidate for President at the 1916 Republican National Convention which was held in Chicago, Illinois.   He lost to Woodrow Wilson by a small majority. This metal badge has the words “Republican National Convention 1916 / Assistant Sergeant at Arms”.  The badge measures 1 5/8″ by 2″ and is in very good condition.  It is marked Whitehead & Hoag in the metal on the back.
