These felt baseball blankets were issued in 1914 by tobacco companies. There are 91 different players including several HOFers in this set. This felt is for Herbert Perdue of the Boston Braves. Perdue also had the nickname “Gallatin Squash” (since he was from Gallatin, Tennessee). Bill played 5 years in professional baseball in the majors as a pitcher with a record of 51 – 64 (wins to losses). He would play another 6 years with minor league teams. The felt blanket measures 5 1/4″ by 5 1/4″ and is in good condition with a few minor creases and a small brown spot near his head.
