Estes Kefauver for President tab

Description

Estes Kefauver wanted the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1952 and 1956.  However, he was nominated as Vice President under Adlai Stevenson in 1956.  Dwight Eisenhower would win the 1956 campaign.  The racoon hat symbol is the result of Ed Crump accusing Estes of communist sympathies and compared him to a deceitful racoon. Kefauver started wearing a coonskin cap.  This die cut tab measures 1 1/2″ by 1 1/2″ and is in excellent condition.
