This ribbon is from a convention of the Ladies of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) held in New Castle, Pennsylvania in June 1930. The GAR was formed in 1866 and was a veteran’s organization for soldiers and sailors of the Union Army. By 1930, many of the GAR members had passed away. It measures 4 1/8″ long and is in good condition.

Ladies of the GAR Convention New Castle Pennsylvania Ribbon 1930

This ribbon is from a convention of the Ladies of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) held in New Castle, Pennsylvania in June 1930.  The GAR was formed in 1866 and was a veteran’s organization for soldiers and sailors of the Union Army.  By 1930, many of the GAR members had passed away.  It measures 4 1/8″ long and is in good condition except the metal pin has a little oxidation at the top left.  The metal piece at the top has a pin on the back for wearing.
