This pinback would have been issued after the Japanese surrendered in August 1945. The initials V-J stand for Victory over Japan. There were gigantic parades and gatherings to celebrate the end of World War II. The RWB pinback measures 1 1/4″ and is in excellent condition. There are also V-E Day pinbacks to celebrate the end of the war in Europe in May 1945; however, the war would not end for another 3 months. There is no manufacturer’s name or backpaper.
