The OPA (Office of Price Administration) was responsible for rationing during World War II starting in 1942. The following goods were rationed: canned goods, meat, sugar, coffee, gas, etc. In 1944 and 1945, the OPA issued red and blue tokens for change at retailers when the customer purchased rationed items. The red tokens were worth one point. Each red token states”OPA 1 Red Point”. The tokens are made of a vulcanized fiber and measure 5/8″ across and are in good condition. The price is 75 cents each.
